Origin Integrated Health, a Chiropractic Clinic located in the Comox Valley. Whether you have been in a car accident, sit at a desk or are on the field, our Chiropractor, Dr. Brittany Filipetti, can set you on a path to recovery.
Dr. Brittany Filipetti functionally assesses each and every patient to find the cause of tissue damage. She provides quality treatment to alleviate symptoms and reduce the occurrence of re injury. She will find the weak and dysfunctional tissues that have been damaged over many years of wear and tear and/or an acute accident.
She treats the symptoms but also finds the origin/cause of the pain. For example the weakest links will break. She manages to find where the neuromuscular imbalances are that can cause a tissue to break down under mechanical stress.
Even those with degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, and other chronic conditions can find relief. If the myofascial and neuromuscular system are balanced and healthy it can tremendously alleviate the conditions mentioned. Sometimes our tissues fatigue and they have a threshold before they start to microtear. This microtearing over time can create a tissue that is not receiving blood and oxygen (hypoxic environment) and in turn becomes weak and tight and more susceptible to injury.
Dr. Brittany Filipetti collaborates with medical doctors, physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, and Naturopaths in the Comox Valley to find the most efficient and cost effective treatment plan for you. She finds the tissues that are dysfunctional and hypoxic and uses the techniques listed to get you better:
A stainless steel tool used to loosen up the tissue and breakdown myofascial adhesions.
Active Release Technique
Tension is placed on the muscle with hands as the patient stretches the muscle slowly.
Spinal and Extremity Adjustments/Manipulation
Traditional Chiropractic Adjustments. Alignment is important and the dysfunctional musculature can restrict the joints by pulling on them. Joints should be able to glide and absorb shock.
Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy:
Photon energy from the laser is converted into chemical energy in the mitochondria of the cell. Photons activate cytochrome c complex within the electron transport chain to produce ATP/energy. This increases microcirculation and accelerates healing at a cellular level.
Rock Tape involves the skilled application of one continuous piece of kinesiology tape to muscle groups that need extra support and relief. We can use Rock Tape to diminish pain signals and prevent unhealthy posture.
